I fiberglassed my gauge pod to my a-pillar and tried covering it with some OEM material.  The pod obviously sticks out a bit and the material doesn't have much if any give to it so I've ended up with some wrinkles and I can seem to get the splice on the back side to look decent.  I've covered and recovered about 5 time now.  Does anyone have a good DIY on this or a link?  I could look into a local shop, but like most of you here, I'm a die hard DIY'er.

hmm, hadn't thought of that.  It's basically headliner material with a 1/8" foam backing.

That looks pretty nice. A lot better than the time my friend just taped a gauge pod to the pillar.

That head liner stuff is hard to get perfect. I installed a couple new headliners before, and there are always some small imperfections due to the glue soaking into the fabric and foam unevenly.

Are you using any kind of adhesive, or is that stuff just pulled tight over the pillar?

Yeah heating it up usually works. Have you tried any other fabrics?

upholstery isn't like snapping into a slim jim. More than likely you need  a sem sewn into the front face of guage, unless your using ultra suade, vinyl will only heat soo much till the backing seperates.
