Looks clean and all but I still don't get the Ipod appeal. I would still rather just burn a cd from the computer with 100 lossless MP3's. But too each its own.

Please don't take this as a flame:

MP3 is inherintly a 'lossy' format. 97% of my music is imported @ 320kbps which is still lossy compared to uncompressed CD Audio. If you are making MP3 CD's with 100 songs, you are still using a lossy format. iPod just holds 57 times as much as you can fit on a CD... More portable than a stack of CD's

I am not completly against CD's i still perfer to buy them rather than download an entire album from the iTunes music store. I also have a 10 Disc MP3/cd Changer in my glovebox.

Don't take this as a flame, bla, bla, bla. CDR $0.30, Ipod expensive, CDR replaceable, Ipod will fail eventually and well be useless, MP3 you are still using them either way. Please don't start the mp3 debate again.

CustomSuburb: You are very observant! 98 Accord Coupe

Slociv: Pretty sturdy, i havent had it come out at all yet, been driving for about a week now...

Auex: "I would still rather just burn a cd from the computer with 100 lossless MP3's."

--This statement seems to suggest that your issue with the iPod is the lossy format, not the price. Your second reply, "...CDR $0.30, Ipod expensive..." contridicts your first post.

I understand the thought that purchasing an iPod is a large invenstment,  but that can be said about virtualy any piece of electronics that any of us buy and/or install.

Every cost objection is inherently relative, there are many who would question any one on this forum's sanity for spending more than $49.99 on a car audio system, but I think that we all can understand that great sound brings a lot of joy to our lives.

Also any pice of Consumer Electronics (or professional for that matter) will eventually fail or become obsolete, and therefore useless...

Cost is justified in the value of the enjoyment and/or convenience that a product offers during it's usable life. To some, the ability to carry 5000+ songs in their shirt pocket and enjoy both current music as well as old favorites enhances their quality of life enough to justify a three, four, five hundred dollar purchase. For others, the value is simply not there.

BTW--I don't work for Apple, nor am I trying to sell you an iPod. I am merely trying to show you the potential benifits that an iPod, or any storage device can offer...

Yeah, I-pod's have always interested me :(

What sucks is that my Head Unit just broke ;( It was a clarion. The CD's won't eject. The ejector is broke. I am going to try and sell it to someone who thinks they can fix it.

Anyone have any advice. I know this is really off topic and I am ambushing the thread, but :P

btw, I'd like to see someone put a 100 song lossless cd on their bicep and go for a jog, it probobly won't sound quite as good as my 196k IPOD mp3s. Ovbiously there are people who like and don't like the IPODs, but they are a great piece of equipment, have good service, and certainly do fill a need. don't like one, don't get one.

Like I said, too each its own. I also said your install was clean. I won't buy an Ipod but if you want one then go right ahead. Nobody understands opinions and preferences anymore. This is not to debate just to show, most of my MP3s are much higher then 320 and mine.

I am an audiophile and listen too everything. I use M$ mediaplayer 10 and change the rate to lossless. Then rip my cd's from there.

sweet, ive been looking for a place to make a 'dock' of sort in my integra for my iRiver.  the iRiveri s awesome and better than iPods in many ways except they cant really dock with anything...the power is on the bottom and the headphone on the top and there is no data output on the bottom like on the iPod...(i do have optical digital in and out on top tho!)...

there is a small tray like that in my integra too, i might do sometihng like this
