I am molding in a Kenwood DDX7015 touch screen radio into my 2000 Nissan Maxima.

Here is how it looks so far.

This the trim ring glued (I used IPS Weld-on #16) in to a aftermarket install kit. The kit casme for a singlr DIN with a small pocket (UGLY)

Here it is after I used rubber bumper repair (SEMA) on it.

Complete. All I have to do Is paint it to match the grey on the bottom of the A/C controls.

Another view.

Let me know what you think.

How do you like that HU? I'm thinking about molding a double DIN in my Jeep, but not sure as to what brand.

Kenwood is the way to go. It is great and the touch screen is so easy to use. You can ajust the angle of the screen once it powers up, also. I got it with the NAV, the KEG (40GIG harddrive for movies & music), surround sound & Sirius add-ons.

I hear that in the next year Alpine is going to be coming out with one just like the Kenwood, except the touch screen will give you a little static elect shock to let you know that you are touching the buttons on the screen.

Eclipse makes some double DIN monitor with a DVD player (one of their models has a built in 20 gb hard drive also). https://www.eclipse-web.com/avx/index.html

Ya, that nice but the Kenwood has the hard drive ad-on and the NAV all in the same unit. If I remember correclty the Eclipse does not offer NAV with the 2 units that have the built in hard drive. Also the hard drive only allows for music files. In the Kenwood it is a Hard drive where you can hold music, pictures & video.

But of Kenwood is proud of the unit (very pricey)

I have looked at both of them and eclipse is pretty proud too. I'm leaning more towards the Kenwood even though I have never owned a Kenwood. There is a shop about 20 miles from here that carries Kenwood and before I make my decision I'll go there and play with it.

The Eclipse's hard drive is built in though...with the Kenwood you have to buy another box. The Eclipse sounds better too...
