I decided i wanted to make a FG cover for my amplifier/Cap behind the seat in my S10, so i went to work with some 1/2 in MDF, 2 oz chop mat and 32 oz of resin. here is what i have so far- 
And here is what the spot looks like without a cover: 
Finally, i would like to know if anyone can tell me how to remove scratches and scuffs from plexiglass. not deep marks, just surface scuffs. do you use ultra-fine grit wetsand paper? buffer with clearcoat compound? Any feedback would be appreciated. -J

First question for ya, Why fiberglass? Wood would have been so much simpler.
Second, buffing wheel with polishing compound and a torch will take out scuffs. Be very, very, very, very, very, very, very careful using the torch. Just heat it up, not melt it.
Oh yeah, you should redo your ground. That doesn't look to be the best place for it.

it is an MDF base, just with fiberglass over it to A) hold in the FG, and B) make it easier to shape and paint with auto finish. As for the ground, seems fine cause that metal sheet is bolted direct to the chassis.

Not to knock you at all but you could have made that with wood and just paint on some resin. You didn't need the mat at all.

and i needed a little practice with FG mat anyways... not to mention the wood was flimsy because it's not easy to make a sturdy box with a poorly made circular saw, a coping saw, and a sanding block.. i also wanted to raise the level to the height of the plexiglass over the MDF... it was worth it for the practice alone, i have a few projects either in progress or coming up, so the practice is useful.

got some bondo on before the rain and sanded it down a bit. needs more though. dremel cleans the work up very nicely. any recommendations for spot filling in the body filler?
