I was reading that some people "thin" out the resin so it soaks into fleece better... how do you go about doing that?

It soaks just fine for me without thinning.

Yeah I've never had problem with it not absorbing into the fleece. You just have to "put more, more, more" like my friend tito would say.

Yeah I've already layed a layer of fleece on 1 project and it soaked about 95% through the underside was just a bit fuzzy still I poured maybe almost a quart of resin on... next time i'll use a brush and a bondo spreader... that should work!!! THANKS GUYS!!

yeah, but i always dump resin inside the box after it has dried and spread it around to get all the rest of the fuzzy out.

I thought acetone prevents the resin from drying are y'all just messing with me?? I thought you were supposed to put your paintbrushes in acetone to prevent them from hardening?...

If you only add a little acetone, it will thin the resin. It may take a little bit longer to dry but it will dry. No joke.

acetone will keep the resin from curing but it also evaporates like my buzz when the cops show up. so it evaporates and the resin drys. ~Ryan

Use MEK, it is already present in the resin. Also if you go to uscomposites.com they sell a chemical used just for thinning polyester resin. Also before any of you think that MEK is used to harden the resin, it is not, MEK is the carrier of the active ingrediant known as peroxide, Hence MEKP.

Proper thing to use to thin resin is Styrene at a 1/10 ratio
