thanks guys for the replys and good feedback!. its a dual port, tuned to 45hz, the ports length are 16" in a curled style, to keep the inside opening at least 2" away from the sub and side wall. this box took me 21/2 days 10 hour days, cuz im still new at building suboxes. since we were going to use one sub cus the other one had died, we whent for the ported box desighn for a little louder and harder thump. everyone keep telling me that this one subbox sounds way better and louder than the factory box he had with the two subs, well this box was build to specs for that subs specifics air and tune needs. yes the ports shape is kind of wierd but there is almost no noise, well you cant realy hear any air noise coming from the port or box and this combo of box,sub and amp sounds just great and loud. the amp is a ras800.1d bazooka. ok later all.

1; quick question to all, what tools would i need to smoth this box and not be time consuming? i have one of the orbital sanders and that just dont work, thanks ps: how do you edit a reply after it has been posted?

u cant edit till u have like 50 posts or something. The box doesnt look majorly rough so a coat of Rage and hand sanding with a foam block or something should be fine.

i guess using some bondo and sanding would work. i was thinking of just smothing the FG first and then doing doing some bondo work. his taking it to a bodyshop cus that was the deal, but i have another box that i build for a friend that still needs sanding, and painting or vinyl, is there some thing like the DA sander but in electric? , i live in an apartment and dont have the space for a complesor and an air tank.

electric sanders will work fine, try and find a rotary sander if possible, the cool thing about DA sanders is they are moving in orbital and rotary, therefore leaving not many scratches, if you are finishing in paint, add a thin layer of body filler, and sand with 80, 150, 240, 400 and a wet 600 then its ready for primer. If you are using vinyl, then you only need to sand to a 220 grit to get a decent finish. and probably wont need to use body filler.

could i use an adapter sander for my drill. like in one of the pics that will allow me to smoth the box down, the right way.

Ho do you get such a smooth glassy finish on the sub box with the 2 woofers in it.

i gave that one a few layer of resin on the out side and all the glassing got done on the inside of the box.
