ok, i've been posting on here for a while, i've done a few projects, but i think it's about time that i put up some random pics of some of the things i've been doing, you guys are welcome to put your pics of recent projects up here, i just like posting and viewing every one's projects, i think it's good that we can all see each others work and get / give ideas to each other.. so heres what i've been up to, these are 3 projects, one of them is 100% done, but i haven't caught up with the guy to get picks of it after it got painted, so these are all semi completed pics,

This is a dakota dash, 7 inch screen, it's painted now, but no pics

This is my grand prix dash, just now working on this one, i had a tv in there before, but i made something resembling a radio "install kit" and it was a two part dash setup, now it's all molded, i should have done it like this before, but it was a first project and a dumb idea that i had to try and make it easy to remove and reinstall a lot, i haven't had time to bondo this or anything yet

And this is a box for an s-10, 4 - 10's in here, with special 2 part rings that i routered out so that the subs sat inside of the rings, i think it'll have a pretty cool effect when they're all in and everything is painted..

so those pics were working yesterday, i think t his forum has some coding problems, it always cuts the .jpg off pics,, but whatever, anyways here they are if you guys wanna see them,, and that box wasn't really hard to get the cubes on,  it's not that drastic so i just guestimated it, did the mdf and a little geomitry for the rest, .. if you wanted to figure one out, read the post about the packing penuts..

I guess the site where you have your pics has a low limit for data transfer.  You might want to try tripod or some other site next time.

from trc, both of those monitors are trc, they are very nice, but kinda pricey, but the one in my gp is awsome.. and geocities didn't ever do that transfer block before, but i haven't used it a lot lately, so sorry if the pics don't always load

Looks great.  I'm actually doing a custom dash right now and I'm putting in an 8" LCD in it.  I might put my PS2 in there too.  I'm also going to put 4 12" subs in the back but my enclosure will be different than yours.  Very cool.

ha ha ha ha ha ahhooo, YES IT CANNNNNNN be that difficult. takes ALOT of practice and patience. don't get me wrong anyone can do it...after a while. I first learned on a 1968 GMC stepside, filling in ALL the rusted out spots; to include rebuilding the front part of the hood. If you really wan to do it, start small, buy ALOT of materials, and be sure to ask questions. I've been doin this shhh for three years (just for myself, nobody is stupid enough to hire me) and I still can't get results like that.

How did you make that box for the 4 subs without making a support brace for the rings?

Posted By: Captanham
Date Posted: May 12, 2005 at 8:08 PM
i made the dual ring setup so they would recess, so the exterior of the larger ring was like 13.5 inches, so i just made the box about 14 inches wide, and dremeled out a little notch for the rings to sit in a bit, glued them down, then glassed
