94 silverado dash

i'm working on a 94 silverado dash, i'm installing a kenwood screen to the stereo part but its a double din,, i'm in the process of making it fit where the stereo goes, what my question is, how can i make that peice where the stereo goes, look factory.... with those little things that it comes with

do "those little things" have a real name?

Yeah elaborate a little more for us there man.

if you have a pic of the dash that would help a lot, but if i understand what you mean, im presuming you have a double DIN section in the dash and you want to convert this to a single DIN and make a cover piece for the dash to make it look factory?

I know what your talking about. Are you sure that there is enough room back there for a double din? If there is, get yourself some liquid plastic and a dremel. Cut your double din hole, then fill in the rest with abs.

Yeah, I have done this before.  You will have to remove that metal support bracket behind the factory cassette.  First thing, you do not want to put it in the dash above the A/C and heater controls.  I hope you are talking about in the middle of the trucks dash, where there is either a cassette, cassette with eq, or a pocket from the factory.  Back to the install, remove the metal bracket (3 7mm screws) and trim as much as you can off the factory air ducts behind.  When you cut the double din whole in the factory center piece you will lose you A/C vents, so go to Lowe's and get some air duct tape and tape them off.  After the hole is cut, the Kenwood will almost go completely in.  What I did was get a piece of ABS 1/4" and also cut a hole in it for the deck to slide thru.  I left about a 1/4" lip around the entire stereo and then filled from my cut of ABS to the factory bezel with very small pieces of ABS and liquid plastic.  Sanded with 60 grit to knock the high points, filled again with liquid plastic and then sanded to shape.  SEM's makes a great texture if you want to match you factory grain, and they also make a paint to match your factory.  Please let us know how it turns out. 

Also, I had to get some plumbers tape, or a strip of metal with holes in it, to hold the deck in from the backside of the truck.
