Along with my 93 SSEi, which some of you have seen my double DIN conversion, I also have a 90 SSE. During a junkyard visit, I stumbled upon a Trofeo with one of those aircraft style shifters. I always thought they looked really cool and wondered if I could get it to fit in the 90 so I offered $16 for it and took it home. The Olds trim was flat and surface mounted to the Bonneville trim which was slightly curved. I ended up building up and shaping fiberglass to make the transition. Here's some pics:

I couldn't find a solution for the "brushes" for the outside track edges before the pics were taken but since then, someone has directed me to a source. I'll add them to this one for a better look but I'm already working on a second version. The words Park, Reverse, etc illuminate blue but the rest of the car has red backlighting. We can't have that now, can we?
