i'm going to be building a set of fiberglass door enclosures for an alpine type x 5.25" component set.  this is my first time using fiberglass, so my question is weather to build them sealed or free air?  i just want to know what all of you think and what has worked well for all of you in the past.  i'm just confused because i've been told to build them sealed by a reputable local car audio shop,  then i was told that free air is better for this set by another very reputable shop.  replies would be much appreciated, and wish me luck.

it is all up to you man, I like them in a sealed, however most on this site will just say make them free air, which I found out when I was planning on making kicks. It all depends on your application and how much free air there is going to be behind the door panel. IMO I dont think there will be much of an audiable difference. Hope I helped somehow! Good luck and post pics! We love pics here!

that's good to know, that helps a lot.  i'm thinking free air is the way to go for me. considering the small space i have to work with, it'll be 10 times easier to make free air.  if these turn out nice, i'll be putting the 6.5" type Xs in the rear.  i'll definetly post pictures, but it may take a while cuz this is my first door build out.
