My cousin just tought me a decent way to get some rings made (or at least drawn) ..

Grab a piece of cardboard, punch a hole in center with a nail and measure out 5 inches for a 10 inch, 6 for a 12 ect.... and punch another hole with a pen then rotate. Then measure how much inside mounting area you need for your speaker and subtract that from 5 , make another hole and repeat. You will have perfect circles.

hahahaha, sorry thats funny. The best thing i know is too measure across the top of the sub and mark that. Then measure the bottom lip of the sub and subtract from your original mark. Then cut out the inside first and then cut out the outside.

Kreate, the best way, if your doing that idea, that I have been taught, is put a nail in the center where the whole will be, then tie string to the nail and then the other end of the string to a pencil(making the string half of however big you need it) and then going around in a circle keeping the string as tight as possile. cardboard seems like over kill. But good luck man! Do you have a router or jig saw?

Hey DukeDuke, the Kicker's are the square ones, not the round ones. What he will have to do is trace the template out on the MDF and use a router to with a 1/2" rabbiting bit to route a ledge on the inside of the template.

Kreate,

If you have the boxes your 10s came in, there is a removable piece of cardboard that is the exact cutout you need. it even has the screw holes punched out. Just take that and trace it on your board, then measure the lip on the speaker and mark that. Then go back and rout it out.
