hey, i tried to re upholster my headliner before with vinyl type/fake leather material.. it was black cause my interior is black., after few days it started saggin,, i used the super 33 or super 77 ( i forgot which one, the lower number i think) from 3m spray glue. also if u poke it and stuff you would be able to see it and stuff alot
any suggestions what to do, i am gonna get a new stock headliner cause the other one is ruined now, and i want it black.. please let m eknow whati could use and what glue etc.. or just suggestions. thanks
You might wanna try some 1/8 or 1/4 inch foam headliner material. ALOT easier to work with...and cheap.
Make sure you headliner board is very clean....spray the contact cement (glue) on to bothe sides. The board and the back side of the foam.....let it tack up before you lay it down...and only do 1/2 of the board at a time.
Make sure you have enough excess to fold it over and tack it on the back side of the board (fold it over)
I have 5 years of time in an upholstery/custom shop.....the foam is easy...the vinal headliners suck big...there too heavy. Thus your sagging problem.... Go to a foam and fabric store....they will tell you what the best glue will be.

Use whatever the folks that sell you the headliner material, say to use.....
Make sure to let it "tack up" before you set the headliner in place!

for a five year veteren you cant seem to spit out a type of glue, -mediashock ive used the super77 for headliners but i don like the way it sprays out you need to let both side get tacky andsometimes if you have an inconsistant spray it might take a while, but i use contact cement, we get it in the 5 gallon drums but u should be fine with the super 77. good luck
