get the plexi edege as you want it and use a blow torch. Move quickly so that the plexi does not over heat and melt too much.

If I am thinking what you are thinking, it is one hard task. The plexi I have has some scratches in it, but you can sand them out to 200 grit, but the plexi starts to fog. You can take an open flame a lightly and very quickly go over the top and take this fogging out, but if you are only ONE second too quick, you will put bubbles in the plexi. Same with power buffing, if you don't go long enough, you still have fog. If you go too long, you get a burn mark. Maybe someone has a better method of getting plexi clear again after taking the scratches out of it. I haven't found one yet, these other methods are too hard to not screw up with.

to get it clear treat it like clear coat. Start out with a rough grit and work finer and finer untill you end up with 3500 grit and then polish. When an aircraft winshield gets a scratch in it this is what we do and it usually takes 6-18 hours to work out as long as it is not too deep and can be serviced.
