get a wide brush that will hold a lot of resin and paint it on. If you have large areas pour it on and quickly spread it with the brush. If you have small areas small brush. You get the idea. Paint the area you are working with resin before you add glass mat. I hope this helps, good luck.

I think the type (brand) of resin that you use makes a huge difference. For the first couple of projects that I did I was using Bondo resin. It was difficult to get it to soak through the glass and fleece. Then I bought 435 resin from U.S. Composites. This stuff is amazing. It leeches into glass awsome. Not to mention that it was cheaper that the Bondo resin. It just requires me to plan ahead a little more.

I have to agree with the rest using a big brush would really help and pouring the glass down on large areas. You should also press on courves if u can press down on it, it means that u need to add more fiberglass. I use the Evercoat resin then kitty hair for glacing, kitty hair is what fills the pinholes the resin makes and smoothens the surface. then i use a regular body filler. Make sure you let resin dry each time u apply a coat.

I like using a brush a whole lot. Also using a squeegee is very helpful too for spreading out the resin "evenly".
What I do for measuring resin use some used 12-20oz used coffee wax cups for wherever use drink coffee or pop.
