What kind of box - wood or FG?  Molded or not?  If so, molded to what?

I HATE THAT CAR! GRRRRRR. I'll have it back here in the morning from the window tint guys and see what can be done for you. I'll be so glad when it is finished this weekend.

If it molds along the rear wheel well, which it probably does, you can punch a hole (carefully) thru that well & thread a bolt in from the outside thru the box & bolt it down stealth.  This is what the JL Stealthboxes do.  Best is if you put a hole in the box, then FG a T-nut or recessed furniture nut into place over the hole.  Then mark where that bolt mates to the wheel well & punch thru - should be less than 2".  Put the box in place & thread the bolt in from outside the car in the wheel well, bolt it down.  Use a BIG washer & coat the bolt head with underbody spray to keep it from corroding.  It's easy to remove & mask & is totally secure.

hey.

i made a FG box molded to the corner of my trunk.. i took out of the fastners that lock the carpet out so i have a hole to connect my box.. so i drilled it to line up... but with the box in place i only have access to one side of the box.. so if i screw a bolt in.. i cant hold the nut to tighten it... so is there like a special type of screw i can just so i only have to have access on one side?

how do you installers secure your boxes?

thanks!

Can you drill a hole in your car, wheel well, stut tower, rear deck?
I have been installing for 12 years and I have made good friends with "pressure Fit" and hood pin brackets Along with Velcro and nuts and bolts to name a few.
I'd say if you can remove the sub and drill a hole into the floor of the trunk or from under the car and into the enclosure it would be your best bet.
Can you send me a picture of that, it might help me figure out a mounting point for ya, FirstnBass@aol.com good luck

I'm not a professional installer... but I have a 13 second 4x4 SUV with an enclosure in the rear that definitely weighs more that 100 lbs that is secured with industrial strength velcro.

You can buy it from Wal Mart... it's in one of the aisles in the fabric/sewing section... I seriously wouldn't use anything else.

I've also secured several of the billet grills I have on the exterior of the vehicle with it also.

I agree with using strong good quality velcro, but alot of people are afraid of using it because they think its too weak.  The industrial strength stuff will hold very well to prety much anything.  If you cant use screws or bolts, then your prety much left with velcro.

Heck,  I use it even on applications where I could have used screws or bolts.

Very good stuff. When you buy a bedrug, that's all it comes with to attach it to the bed and I haven't seen any movement when I'm tearing around corners with stuff flying everywhere in the bed.
