I went down to the local pain store here in town and scored some fiberglass mat, resin, and body filler.

problem is that this stuff comes in a white ice cream container with 0 instructions for anything.

What would a generic type mix be for 1 Liter of resin? The hardner I have comes in an eyedrop bottle.

That's about a good a description I can give, sorry.

Here is quoted mixes from my instruction sheet from a manufacter named "Diggers".  I use their fibreglass products.

Measure the amount of catalyst needed

On a hot day use 1.5-2% or on cold days use 2.5-3%

So thats between 15 and 30ml of catalyst per 1Kg resin, but it depedns on the brand of product, goodluck

I've heard from others that it varies from brand to brand, but this stuff must be mixed in a bathtub at home. It has nothing for information anywhere on it.

Guess we'll have to use a test piece first.

Hummm sounds a bit dodgie but it shuld be ok.  A test batch wuld be good.  Most catalysts are blends they contain a percentage of the actual chemical catalyst and the rest is made up of a vessel thast simply fills up space and serves other minor jobs.  Each brand has there own percentage of chemical catalyst within the whole cataylst and therefore mixing rates vary.  The resin itself will vary as to how much cataylst actually causes a chemical due to different compositions.
