hey im new and i want to make a custom fiberglass box but first i need to know what kind of materials i need to get started....and how to make a curvey box, etc, etc

You need to read up man, im not yelling at you or anything. This question has just been answered so many times, like once a week usually. Search and you'll get plenty of answers. I'll even start you out with a website that shows you how to fiberglass. ok that site helps alot, thanks but i mean do i have to mix hardener with the resin or? i guess i understand the process of how to make it but i guess im confused on if there are miztures i have to make. ive heard of putting hardener in the resin to start. and also can u use fleece for every layer? or is it one layer of fleece than more and more resin or layers or is it fleece, resin, fleece, resin etc etc...well thanks

Yes, hardener is added to the resin. However, it has a ratio which is recommended to follow (usually about 12-14 drops of hardener for every ounce of resin); if you add too much hardener your mixture will dry up too fast or in rare cases can even spontaneously combust. As for layering fiberglass and resin: You build the design of your box out of wood, preferably MDF (medium density fiberboard), prop up your sub rings to the position you want them, stretch fleece over the whole design, layer a coat of resin directly on the fleece, after that hardens you can start layering chopped strand fiberglass mat on the design

Get your resin from Home Depot and glass cloth from USCOMPOSITES.COM. Start out with something like one ounce chop strand mat. Good luck.

Ok, i got another ? do i have to mix the hardner with every layer or what? or just the fist layer? and can i use fleece from like walmart for every layer or just the first? or is it worth time and my money to get some FG mat(the real thick stuff)

Yeah, you have to mix the hardener with the resin. The hardener is exactly what its name says...hardener. It is added to the resin to make it harden, if not it would just be resin. As for the fleece, its SOLE pupose is to make the initial shape of the enclosure. After you have the fleece hardened you NEED to add the mat for strength. You will add the mat to add strength (something in which fleece just cannot accomplish by itself.) I'm not trying to be mean here but, if you are asking questions like these, you need to do some more research on how fiberglass is performed. This is a GREAT website and everything you want to know has been covered once or twice so take advantage of it.
