I was wondering if I could face the two outer 10" subs inwards instead of having the face of the woofer out? Would this work at all or would it sound like crap? This is the box that I am putting the subs in. Please need some feedback as the one sub on the right side of the box will not fit after all this work.

Thanks for the replies.

Yes..... making sure the one pair that is not the same as the other pair are wired polarity reversed. (subs that you see the cone.... wire normally. Subs that you see the basket, wire opposite.... that way everything moves in the same direction.)

Make any sense whatsoever???

If you have subs facing one another they do cancle one another out. My advice to you is to keep it how it is. Nice box though, looks very clean and solid.

don't the subs have to be some huge distance apart before the cancellation becomes an issue, with the long wavelengths of the sounds that subs reproduce and all?

Is it cuz of the dowel supports that it dosnt fit, or isnt there enough room for the mounting depth?

I think hes just saying he want to make it to where, two of his subs have the cone facing you and two have the basket facing you.

As per the question about the Dowelling.  I removed the dowels that may have caused any clearance issues, and its the depth on the right side of the box.  I am a little pissed about the whole thing since its my first attempt and the box looked like it was going to work out.  The right side seemed to cave in a bit and thus why I am asking about reversin the outter subs to still utilize this box.  Thanks for the advice so far I will let you know how it finally works out soon.

Gus is correct, dumbied down below
Simple answer: All you do is wire the subs that are inverted(motor out) out of phase of the other 2 subs. So +amp to +sub and -amp to -sub on the 2 middle subs and +amp to -sub and -amp to +sub on the outer 2.

Sweet!!!

Ok you guys rock.  I knew someone would have the answer.  Now here is another one.  What will the sound be like?  I have seen on some pics posted people have done this but never heard the sound.  Interested what you guys think of the sound quality.

Sounds the same, well there is a little loss of cone area but nothing noticable.
