when you need to glass vertically up a wall or seat for example, what do you guys do? I've tried spray adheasive to hold the mat up but that didn't work. I've also tried soaking the mat is resin first that didn't work. I need to know if there's any trick to keeping the mat up while it hardens.
If I tell you ...... there will be three men in black tench coats waiting outside your door after yo receive this information
For vertical walls use tin foil to press up against the fiberglass, I soak the matting with fiberglass and work my way from the bottom to the top ( about 4 inches at a time ).You will only need to do 2 layers at one time to get your mold and then you can remove the mold to thicken the next two layers, but make sure you put the mold back after you place the tin foil on the 3rd/4th layers in case the project warps from the heat. Repeat this for the 5th/6th layer and after this you should be able to have the mold out of the vehicle for any additional layers.

what about hypothetically say UPSIDE DOWN! if i decide in the future to redo my sealing, probably wont but just curious.
then your screwed.........nah j/k but if its at all possible I would try to take out the headliner(if your doing your ceiling) and try to put it on a table or something......but thats just me.....
i saw a site where a guy did a FG headliner and he flipped his car body upside down, lol, but not everyone has that luxury. He also has some other good stuff on the site such as a console and some A-pillars. dont forget to look at the other pages.

My advice would be to wet the surface first then stick the mat to it, then glass the mat carefully keeping the brush wet so the mat doesnt stick to it and pull away, it'll be much messier than laying a project down so be prepared for that.
EDIT: N/M it would be much easier to soak the pieces like velocity motors said...it might be easier to keep the pieces of mat small though (no bigger than 2" square).
