I was wondering if anybody ever tried mixing in mdf sawdust as a thickener with the resin. Is there a reason why I shouldn't try that?

I actually posted to this to say a unique little thing that happened to me. Had some FB in the living room spilled Orange juice on it. Next day it seemed to have some similar properties to a resin except wasn't hard. I thought wonder what would happen if I added hardner to it. Havn't tried yet but was going to experiment with a small piece of cloth for kicks.

I heard talcum powder can even be used in place of cabosil, I've never tried it before, but I think I will in the future...

Best way to try it, would be to mix a lil bit first and watch the curing time and test the strength. I tried using sawdust and mdf dust and it'll thicken the mix, i just had to use more mekp hardener.

I have researched fiberglass a lot and that technique has come up a few times.  As others have mentioned, talc works just as well.

Where do I get talc? I am using foot powder right now, smells nice but I would rather it not be so minty.

Actually I was wondering about the fibreglass dust you get from sanding??? Also thought of adding it in with Bondo at certain stages, Like a FB Bondo. This any good as an idea?
