Alright guys I am looking at buying a pneumatic staple gun for fiberglassing with.  I have been using the other methods of hot glue and stuff like that. Which work fine but I want a staple gun for sticking the fleece to the mdf. My question what type of gun do you guys have, name brand?   and what size staples are you shooting? for the least 1/2" mdf. Thanks guys, realitycheck

I have a Woodtek 22 ga uhpolstery stapler.  I use 1/4 long staples and it works great for me.  It was a cheaper stapler having looked around for quite awhile.  You can get it from Woodworkers Supply, www.woodworker.com.

Upholstery staple is probably where I need to be looking instead of lowes and stuff. Anybody else?

I went to a couple of Home Depot's & Revy's and finally found one at Rona. Any of these places will have upholstery guns for you. Just make sure that they have the proper staples for you ( 3/8 crown with 1/4-1/2" legs)

thanks jeff. Do these also work with stapling fleece to actual fiberglass????? Like if you do a mold then stretch fleece over it, can you staple to the glass also???
So basically any stapler that shoots those size staples will do, is this right???????

I haven't been able to find a staple that yould work well with fiberglass. I've tried 3 or 4 types and either the staple collapses on the fiberglass or the fiberglass breaks/shatters with the staple's impact. I usually use hot glue to stretch over the fiberglass, but if it's MDF I use the staple gun.

I have two pnuematic guns, one with upholstery staples ( thin and dainty ) and the other uses regular construction staples ( big and undainty ). The dainty one is good for small work and thin MDF ( like on dash parts or door panels ) while the other I use for sub enclosures and amp racks. The larger gun is good for up to 2" leg staples with 1/4" crown or brad nails while the smaller gun is only good for 1/2 leg staples with 3/8 crown
