I was at my local shop today.. and they were just finishing up a custom fiberglass box for a customer. It was chambered, and the installer was laying down dymamat in each chamber.
Has anyone done that? What's the reason to dynamat the inside of an enclosure?
I believe it makes the enclosure more solid, better bass output...

Im a fiberglass whore!!
We've done that a few times ourselves. The Dynamat acts as a vibration dampener between the chambers and thus neutralizing phasing and counter-vibrations that may stray off the box and cause slight loss of quality in sound. It is not required for most applications, but there are the exceptional few that need it, particularly in fiberglass chambered systems. As an added further measure, for these types of boxes we use steel mesh reinforcement too.

i spray the inside of my fiberglass boxes with the rubberized rocker gaurd you can buy at any auto store for like 8 bucks a can..a couple good layers of that will do the same job as a Dynomat type product...plus it is considerably easier to apply..
and yes it is pretty necessary with fiberglass enclosures, especially if they are hand laid...cause tiny air bubbles and pieces sticking out (like thorns) will vibrate like crazy and sound like poop.
