Covering 69 Mustang Dash

I am wondering what the best or ideal way to cover my 69 mustang dash. I managed to get all the old vinyl covering off and have a good base with the foam that was underneath the vinyl. I am wondering if I can use a mix I heard about of bondo, fiberglass and honey. Will this melt the foam? Someone said use just resin but I dont know since I have never attempted anything like this. Like I said I have a great foam base for it being 30 plus years old and I think a cool fiberglass look will give the car the updated look I am going for. Any ideas, suggestions, or comments are greatly appreciated.

Bondo, fiberglass resin, and the honey is a slang name for a thinning agent. it makes a paintable bondo mixture from what I hear. This way you dont have to spread it . But this is all things I have read.

So no one knows if the original dash pad will hold up to fiberglass resin?

if you've got any around you could just test a small spot on it like a couple drops. That should be enough to tell. I don't know if it will or not. There may be a coating you could put on there so it wont if it is in fact a reaction there.

ya I will try that. But I still dont know if I need to use mat or I can just resin/ bondo on top of it. I may just go but some balsafoam and start from scratch.

Cover the dash in tinfoil. Once you finish your glassing, you can remove the tinfoil and you will have a fiberglass shell.
