I own a 2006 Chevrolet colorado regular cab. Behind the seats there is ample room. I was thinking of doing this. Input. Comments?? Any other configurations are welcome. 
This is a sketch of behind the passenger seat. that thing in the middle is my jack "enclosure"

it's looks like a good design to me. Have you measured this all out to make sure that it's going to fit? it looks like the area is kind of small to fit all that but i'm not familiar with those trucks. how much volume does your sub need?

The area is big enough because the cabs on the new colorado. which replaced the s10, is about 10-12 inches longer inside. i actually hae to slide the seat ahead to get the clutch. The measuring probably slightly off in the sub rign but other than that it should be good. the sketcho of the truck is to scale but the speaker box is not. Thanks for the input. Anyone else?

are you building a matching box for the other side too? if so i would mount the ampe where you have the 6x9 and 6x9 where the amp is... if not i would scrap the 6x9 as they sound like crap...especially if therre is only one.. ------------- Fiberglass Guru.

I would get rid of that jack enclosure and balance the installation so that you have the speaker's in the back top and then the sub beside the amplifier. If you wanted to you can incorporate the jack on the bottom of the enclosure so you still have it accessible and using a trap door to hide the ugly jack.

it looks good, but why you don't make two enclosure, thus each side of the jack enclosure 2 12" subs, 2 amps? it will look nice imo.

I plan to make two boxes. One of the reasons i want the 6x9's or maybe other sizes? is because i only have 2 OEM speakers now in the doors. there are none anywhere else. There is mounting holes behind the seats but they are made for 4x6's and i dont want those there because the boxes might muffle them out. I will replace the OEM speakers with nice pioneers or polks. The 2 6x9's have to be close to the middle top however to fire outward between my seats so they can be heard. Remember that my seats are going to slide up right close to those.
Also to Velocity Motors...Do you mean make a single enclosure rgiht over the existing jack in replacement of the jack "case"?? if so how would i use my jack.. if necessary, and up here its most likely a good tool to carry. Do you have any suggestions as to possibly relocate the jack?? its just a basic bottle jack.
Also is there any benifit or disbenifits to using 6x9's?? Thanks for all your input.
