Hey,

Im making an amp rack for a JL 500/1. The top, bottom, and 2 sides are gonna be 3/4 mdf but the other 2 sides are going to be 1/2. The reason is that if i used 3/4 for those two sides the amp wouldnt fit in the box. So, how do i join the 3/4 to the 1/2.im assuming if i just drilled in a screw it would strip the wood.

Just tryin' to learn...

give yourself more surface area by joining the 1/2" to the 3/4"posted_image

I have used a 2 part epoxy glue on MDF (Pro Form pliogrip) and I still have not been able to break the bonded surface, I can destroy the surrounding surfaces...but not the areas I glued.

Just glue it and clamp it, don't use any screws and it will be fine

I say go with what junior said. Glue and clamp will be pretty much unbreakable and also the easiest.
