Just thought I would post up my first real fiberglass project, I had done some under seat boxes once before but nothing else so I'm pretty happy with how this project turned out.  That and I figured that I should use some old equipment that had been sitting around in the garage for  few years.

Enjoy.

I was concerned about the outer edge of that speaker ring making the enclosure look weird but you ended up concealing it, good job.  Just a thought, why not make a frame for the amp just like you did for the sub so you could fleece and glass the amp rack too, this way, you have the same kind of look on both sides.

Thanks for the comments guys.  Punkbastard, the main reason for doing the amp rack the way I did was because i know it is going to be temporary.  That amp doesn't have enough power to keep up when I finally get around to doing seperates in the front so I'll needa completely different setup on that side at a later point.  Just didn't want to invest much time in something that was going to be changed.

I love the way you laid everything out and masked it very, very well.  You are a very clean installer and I commend you for that.  I remember when I took to the glass in my trunk the first time... Good thing I was taking the carpet out!

The box looks very good also; almost stock and doesn't take up much room, either.
All around a very nice job, well done.

i still kinna question all that space used for the amp... was it really necessary to use fiberglass to mold the back piece in this case?

If you pay attention to the comments you'll notice that it's TEMPORARY. He's going to be swapping it out for a more powerful amp in the future.

Yeah, sort of felt foolish having to watse that much work and materials.  The original plan was for the amp to be mounted toward the front end of the enclosure and the sub toward the back with each section chambered off but I sort of forgot about the arm for the trunk lid and where it would end up when closed.  There just wasn't enough room for it to fit and look correct so off to the other side of the trunk it went.  Not like I need access to the jack, i have a 2 ton floor jack in the garage.posted_image

Very Clean looks good.. seems like a waste of material to make a full enclosure for the amp. but still it looks great.
