Well the dash has been fiberglassed and sanded down, now comes the fun part. Adding the vinyl to dash. We have a sheet of white vinyl big enough to cover the dash with enough extra. The question is, what do I use to glue it down. Will 3M 77 Spray Adhesive work? If not what should we use? Also, should we apply a layer or foam underneath the vinyl or is that unnecessary? Thanks in advance for the help.

I dont think that spray will hold up to the heat caused by direct sunlight. your best bet would be to use contact cement from a spray gun attatched to an air compressor.

When you buy contact cement what type of gun is used to spray it? How thick is the cement? Where can I find it at decent prices? Does anyone know weather or not I should add a small / Thin layer of foam underneath the vinyl? Thanks for the Input

I would say use a siphon fill gun to apply the glue, and usually you can find a good size can of glue in a can to put in the gun somewhere in the hardware section of walmart. Using foam is up to your descretion, it depends on what kinda look you are going for.

a gravity fed gun is what the shop near me uses. You might want to get the gallon size from depot or 2 of the smaller size cans from walmart. Walmart doesnt sell the gallon size unfortunately

If you want the soft touch of vinyl then add a thin layer of foam ( about 1/8" ) and using 3M Super 90 will hold even in the sun. Here's a description of the available grades of spray adhesive from 3M------------- Jeff
