First off, what is the vehicle you're wanting to do this to? I ask this because it looks as if there may be a replacement panel available to do this, instead delving into the FG process. I'd check out www.crutchfield.com just to see what's available. They seem to have pretty good vehicle specific tech sheets for dismantling and installing stereos. ------------- Slowly but surely working towards something. Not sure what though.

There actually is a kit made for that car. Metra (99-7009) carries it . Its a little different then what you are trying to do. Only other thing I can think of is just mold an exsisting kit in or double din radio in. ------------- Cris

OK I got the part with the kit , that will be definitely helpful. Now for the face plate and techniques ! Do I go about it by cutting face plate and using Fiber Glass to make smooth edges? Read somewhere that FG doesn't stick to plastic and I would love the black plate "see above pic" How do you think that was done? thanks for the input !

no one here will be able to tell you exactly how to do it. I know i dont have a mitsubishi Endeavor in my gerage that i can go tear apart to tell you exactly how its done. As for fiberglass sticking to plastic, you're right, it wont stick very easily, it can be done though. But I dont think fiberglass is right for this project. You can find fillers that will stick well to plastic, check out www.selectproducts.com out. They have some products that will work. Like i said we can give is limited advice, unless you can find someone on here who has done it.

There are alot of steps and techiniques that you will need to use to make the final results look good and flawless. Here's a link to another site that gives you the step by step of how to customize your dash for a radio installation. Use the same steps with modifications and apply it to your project: https://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=63433 ------------- Jeff
