i am getting ready to build a complet hatch box in a 97 eclipse. the problem i am having is how do you get to the taillights when you need a bulb change? the only thing i can think of is to build the box the way i want it in the hatch. with room enuff to get to the lights. then do like a full size cover ( kinda like in the box build how to on here) off the seal rubber. and make it stick to the box with velcro or somthing? any ideas you have would be great. i will post pics as soon as i get started

What about a panel inside the sub box, so you remove the sub, then remove this internal panel.  a little PITA, but everything would be hidden.  Then you could make some sort of gasket, so you didn't have to re-seal it every time.

...Or holes under the amps.  That would be a lot easier and more conveniant.

the holes under the amps will not work for me. the amps will be in front of the box hidden with a pull away door with a small tv in it to kinda hide the cutout. the panel idea wont work eather becouse of the way i am going to mount the speakers. 4 15s 2 on left and 2 on the right. it will consist of two boxes one left and one right. both will start off flat at the top and stick out about 1 1/2 ft. then kinda V down to about 4in. off the floor. so i will have about 1 1/2 -2 ft. between the two boxes and the speakers will mount in the V part mags. out or reversed mount. with neons down the center. then i will have a box in the front ( where the back seats are) that will house amps crossovers capassiters wires and whatever else i put in there hidden. it will have 3 parts to it. center for all the junk. and two ends for eather 10s or 12s. with the tv mounted in the center of the panel to kinda hide the panel. but your ideas are great just not for what im doing.

Then in your case, you would probably have to make it so the entire cover comes off, or unbolt the tail lights and velcro them in (kidding)

Why not switch from incandecent bulds  to leds. That way you won't have to worry about changing them.

Check this out.
