Got my new car on Friday - a former Texas State Trooper Crown Vic - but I can't drive it until Monday.  Thought I would take this time to build a console, sub box, and run all the wires for future projects.  I don't have build pics, but I'll have some finished pics up in a bit.

I'm sorry, I would never buy a used police car. They get the hell beat out of them.

i bought a local cop car once i got it for 2500 bucks the only reason i got it was cuz it came with the sirens and lights on top i got it when i was 17 i took it to partys and i would flip the switch you would see high schoolers running like roaches when you hit that switch i got it just for something to drive around town and have fun with and it was alot of fun i have even seen the lights for them on sale on the internet like ebay its a bunch of fun but yea its not something you take out of town and expect to be really reliable but form the looks of the pic looks like you have something nicer in the background to drive and looks like a nice area you live in have fun with it if you can get some lights fun just don't get caught

I got the car primarily for work, but I was driving down 35 doing 90 in the left lane, and everybody moved for me.  Out of all the cars I've owned, I think this is my favorite.  It was a sargents car out of dallas, so it hasn't really had the hell driven out of it, and it's only got 80k for a 2003.  It's felony impersonating a police officer to have lights and sirens here, so I'm just going to connect one of those momentary switches to my alarm siren.

Here are the ones of the console.  The sub box is really nothing to write home about, so I'll get some pics when it's done.

Cool, pimp out that police car in full BLING!!!!!!!

If your in Northwest Arkansas and you buy a police car, you got lucky!  I would buy another one in a heartbeat!  (Ive bought 4 in the past 3 years)  ALL law enforcement vehicles, as a rule of thumb, during thier labor years are kept nearly immaculate...just about every city law enforcement I used to work as a mechanic did keep thier emergency vehicles in very good order.  PMH61 got lucky, or the city he lives in doesnt enforce much...  everywhere else strips the cars of all emergency provisions before sale.  But, when PMH61 mentioned teenagers ran like roaches I was LMAO!  I have an Ex-Little Rock Trooper C-Vic that was eventially converted to some format of DEA (sportin' some good mods) so it looks like one of those-ever-so-obvious unmarks.  When I drive up to a liquer store, school, or place of such sorts... some kids look around...all paranoid!!!!  Must be guilty concience?

There's a place here in austin that sells all former state vehicles for $5k  for2003, and 7k for 2004, not including the state trooper camaro's that are 1500 more.  all the police cars are maintained every 3 thousand miles, and pulled from the  fleet at 80 thousand.  They take all the police equipment  out, but it stil has all the power, and no governor.

YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!  THATS THE GOOD PART!!  They leave all the operational engine hardware and goodies and suspension.  I really didnt care about the extras, except it would be very cool to have one of thier radios!...Nav system!............Ill quit whinning.

That's about how I buy cars.  I'm only 18, and I've been through 5 cars already.

No, the console has 4 I/O switches, 2 momentary switches, and one 12v power outlet.  I might add a PA later though.
