This was my first fibreglassing/subwoofer box project I think it turned out pretty good for a rookie. Its a centre console in the front seat. Here are some pictures below, tell me what you think.

How does it sound? How about at higher volumes?

it sounds really good, yea I know its a weird spot to put the sub but i wasnt doing it for like sound quality, Im just a young kid trying to gain some experience on building these kinds of things. As for the sub i took it out of a box I had previously.
Why arent the pictures up anymore?

it is actually better (sound stage wise) to have your subs up front...

Having the subs up front are a lot better in my opinion. They have a more in your face kind of feel to them now which is nice when you need it. All my friends really like it and are pretty amazed by it.
Thanks for all the comments and help along the way.

At least you don't have to worry about localization of your substage. hehe

not bad for first project but does that have enough air pressure?

Actually since subs are omnidirectional, that isn't neccessarily true. True that it sounds louder but in a pickup, the location doesn't matter so much.

Well the air pressure would not be too bad. The smaller enclosure will make the sub much more responsive, so playing most types of music will be very clear. As for boom, it not may not be as powerful.

My concerns for the install would be that the amp is gain set properly to get the most sound out of the sub without distortion and for heat dissapation. The links for the larger pictures don't seem to be working so I don't know what sub it is, but if there is a rubber ring round the sub's magnet, I would remove it to let the heat spread more evenly.

You probably never listend to a sub that is in front. I have one upfront in my pickup and it's night and day difference between this and one in the trunk. Though SQ/output wise I liked it in the trunk much more.

We said that in a PICKUP, (not a car) front or rear staging of the sub in most pickup's cab doesn't make noticeable differences. In a Sedan, the difference would be night and day.
