Howdy All,
I am working on a motocycle seat that I had to cut to fit my bike. Now I am wondering what is the correct process and products to use to finish the cut end. My idea was to epoxy the cutoff end flush with the seat and then use a filler product to fill the gaps and finish it off. Does this sound like the right way to go about it? Anybody have any suggestions on products that work well with fiberglass and have the strength to stand up to my 200 lb butt and the vibrations of the bike and road? Thanks...

Why not just use fiberglass?
Rough up the bottom part your inserting under the top part so that it will stick well. In fact rough up both of them. Then glue together with some resin in between them let dry and then glass it together.

Is this what your trying to accomplish putting the two parts together? If not im lost on what your trying to do.

Your idea will work for finishing the edge. For reinforcement, we use metal mesh (like at Home Depot) on the underside to help keep major flexing in check and fill the backside with 1/2" - 3/4" chopmat or KittyHair (^-^ no mixing) That'll take a 200lb butt (and more in our experience. One customer was around 280-300... Lots of muscle and lots of... well you get the idea)
