Never heard of resin that can be sprayed... What kind of resin are you using?

i was always under the impression you need a special gun that mixes the resin and hardner at the tip so neither of the componets mix till they meet with the air like in a two-pack gun, but i dont see why you cudnt sparey thru a standard HVLP gun, ud just have to be quick when it comes to cleaning up

heres the deal....me and a buddy are trying make a mold of his farings for his Honda CBR....i have done glassin many many times on tweeter pods, kickpanels, etc.....i dont mind using a brush then....BUT i dont wanna brush a set of farings...lmao...ill be there forever.....so i was hoping i could use a air compressor spray gun, just have my buddy help, mix the resin/hardener together, pour it in the stainless steel cup and spray it so its uniform on the farings, then lay the cloth, and shoot another coat of resin to soak it in good and make it relitavely uniform......know what i mean ?? I dont see why there would be a problem, its a HIGH viscosity gun, says it can spray gel coat, so......anyone know what kinda PSI i should shoot it at ?? also when im dont, should i just fill it with acetone and clean it out, or what would yall recommend....hope yall can all lend some advice.....ill be sure to post some photos as soon as i get going.....thanks guy !!!!

I've sprayed epoxy resin that way. I used a 30 min epoxy resin with pigment, mix with hardner and spray. Worked out perfect. turned out like a gel coat, very little sanding to do. Just make sure you load your gun with acetone and spray a bit with in the hardening window, or your gun will be a flower pot. Once you've sprayed acetone through the tip, disassamble the sprayer and soak in acetone. ------------- If you can't describe what you are doing as a process, you don't know what you're doing.

That's right. This is a really good DVD, I have actually watched it. The items you may want to get are the damping spray gun (ssg100) b/c it uses paper cups which you can just throw away when you are finished and i would recommend nozzle #2 (ssgn2) or #4 (ssgn4). Then I would use our spray poly-fill (fgspfill) which will save a wholelot of time when comes to laying down the filler and will have less sanding. i would also recommend using mekp for the hardener at maybe a 2% ratio. Then u proceed as usual. This will make a project that takes a few days down to a few hours. Hope this helps.
