I have a pair of Alpine SPX-177R Components.

I want the mid bass drivers in Custom Fiberglass Kick Panels. The tweeters are going in the stock pillar locations. I also would like to maybe have the crossovers inset into the kick panels someway.

Is anyone up for the work? If interested I would like to hear from you to discuss time and cost.

Thanks

Yes but the mids are 6.5's and pretty deep. I don't really want to cram them in those q-logic kicks even if they might fit. They may fit, I'm sure many of 6.5's have been set in these but I would prefer something custom glassed. I believe I will get a much better sound from them in a fiberglassed kick panel. Tell me if I'm wrong, Please.

Ok, Can anyone tell me if it would be worth doing myself and if you say it is worth doing myself, tell me what all I need to go buy and give me your best tips, trick, and sources like a link to a good "how to". Thanks in advanced for whoever responds to this one.

Its all about research. Search the net and read up on how poeple have done it in the past and what mistakes they have made. Best thing you can do is research something till you feel comforatable enough to do it yourself.

I would find a 4runner forum and see if anyone has made any kicks.

I think you should at least try to do it yourself. what have you got to lose? Some wood, resin and fabric? Just don't spill any resin on anything you value. There should be tons of sites that can show you how to do this as well as dvd's for sale from companies like select products. If you want me to give you a step by step I will but it won't be the same as seeing it done. It is not that hard to do at all, you just need some patience, a little creativity and skill, and some basic tools.

...what master5 said. "Nothing worth having comes easy"

We have never met, but I sincerely believe you are more than capable of completing the project.

We will be here as support.

I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.

Thanks Melted Fabric, I believe I am capable of doing this project too. I live about 2 hours away from my parents home. My dad has a big shop for me to do it in. I just need to make the trip and get in there and try it out. In the mean time, I will be researching the how to part some more.
Thanks
