when your applying the fiberglass matting to the masking tape, is it necessary to use a release on the tape? If not, how do you get the fiberglass mold off of the tape once it has dried?

Yes it is necessary otherwise it's a pain in the @$$ to remove the tape from your project . IT makes the release alot easier too. Use Turtle wax or some type of car wax to apply to the taped off area.

but if you use a release, will the fiberglass still stick to the wall of tape in order to make the mold of the vehicle, especially if your mold consists of having to hang fiberglass beneath a panel in order to get that perfect shape?

yes ........you can put a layer of resin on the taped area first to help it stay there...the other way is to spray glue it in place and don't soak the mat all the way through.....then when the resin has cured you can remove the piece and resin the rest of the back .....this worhs well for the hard to get upside down pieces...installguy509
