I just had a couple of questions I needed some imput on invloving fiberglassing.

First, when applying FG mat, is it better to put the chopped mat down first and then apply the resin or to apply areas with resin first and sticking the mat to them and then going back and saturating dry areas?

Second, between layers should I dremel the excess over flow pieces/fibers before I sand?  To clean it up a bit, or jus wait til it's done and do it all then?

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Thanx

Richard

1st     I would apply a thin layer of resin in a small area just before placing the mat (maybe every 4 or 5 peices). make sure you have enough resin ready and that it doesn't harden too fast.

2nd   cuttin off the overhaninging peices early may be a good idea. it may be a hassle to do it later when those peices are thick and hard from layered glass.

tips (from my mistakes):  get as close to your desired shape by planning ahead framing the fleece or fabric accordingly. Don't rely on glass mat and filler to provide shape.
