The best way isto cut it out with a router and a circle jig. If not you can go the cheaper route and use a jig saw and a circle jig for it. You can get that at home depot for like $15

Kicker L5 is square and has round corners. I dont think a circle jig is going to work.

Oh, sorry bout that In the topic you put l5 and not L5. Either way, youll still need a router and an edge tool for it. Usually when you buy the circle tool, its a combo with the edge tool. The jig saw would be o too, but the router has much smoother cuts

Use a hole saw on the corners with a radius that matches the speaker than use a regular circular saw with a drop in cut to cut the sides, or a jig saw with a guide.

Sorry, that will only work on the inside of the ring. Good luck with the outside cut.

why not just use a rabbit bit on the outside and inside both... speaker is recessed, glass is recessed, cut from one peice of mdf, not 2.
... cut the inside diameter the size of the mounting surface of the speaker, while you set the rabbit to cut the outside perimeter and however deep you want it recessed. on the outside, cut in about a quarter inch, about 3/8s of an inch down, staple the cloth down into this cut and glass and bondo up to the wood surface.
