I haven't worked with fiberglass or composite that much, other than on small amounts of bodywork in our shop, so I don't know where to start, but I want to fiberglass a box I have built right now.  It is a single 12" box, sealed as of now, but I want to build a slot port on it and make it a little larger.  The box is strong enough, I just want to nice finished look to it.  How much would it cost to 'glass a box about 16"x20"x20" with a round 12" hole in the front?  Also, any ideas or help for my project would be awesome! Thanks!

when contemplating the cost of how much it is going to cost you you have to decide if you are going to paint, vinyl, or cover in another material.  Basically being paint is going to cost the most depending on brand, color, and type, painted will also take longer.  Vinyl and other materials are a little forgiving when it comes to showing you imperfections in sanding and finish of fiberglass coat. And the over all outcome is are you buying at cost or not.  All in all estimations are  Paint  1 gallon glass - 35.00 est  1 gallon bondo or bondo glass 30.00 est  sand paper, masks, gloves, cups and such  20.00.   Materials around the 80.00 Est , you might have some left over for your next project,  paint  starting at 15.00 on up for some PPG/ 3M hues if you have the gun to spray bout 1 qt should do ya and some primer high build  15.00 and up .  Or vinyl 6.00 and up and some glue 8.00 est  hope this helps you out.  let us know how the project turns out   paint is always nice but can be a pain in the arse.

Later A J
