99 silverado ext cab pickup subwoofer enc

i am installing 2 12" diamond audio subs in a 99 chevy ext cab and i would like some ideas on how to build the enclosure. should i use a divider in the box or just use one chamber to make up for the little air space? i am also fiberglassing the enclosure and firing the subs to the floor. please respond with comments and such. thanks

Well space the subs so they have some room off the floor.. and it doesnt matter if you split em or not just make sure you get the air space needed. You really have alot of space down there... you just have to glass and use it all up.

should i use one enclosure or could i get the same response out of two seperate boxes? also would a sealed or ported box work best?

The depends on the kind of sound you are looking for.

Sealed boxes will give a cleaner response.
Ported will make them louder but you'll lose some clarity in sound.

Since you are in a pickup and are limited in space, consider going with the sealed box because they also have smaller requirements. You have two subs, so porting will not be necessary to make them hit hard. Unless you are going for competition bass, sealed would be better as it will not overpower the rest of the music.

Now you didn't specify exactly which subs you are using (D1, D3, D6, or D9 if you are using their most recent products) but their Qs for most of them suggest that using partitioned boxes will get the best response out of them.

Also for height above the floor, the subs must be at least 3.25" off the floor or else you'll get pressure backlash from the floor and the "bandpass effect" from reflecting sound waves.
