So,i was wondering,how much heat can fibreglass actually withstand? i've seen some show cars install fibreglass in their engine bay to hold speakers.

Depends on the specific FG and resin... some combos will stand up to 1600F (VERY pricey), most will take 500F but most likely will distort. The cheap-o depot off brand name stuff usually around 200-300 (you get what you pay for)

Now it will vary a lot on installation and base too, so these numbers are VERY rough.
