I have some vinyl that I would like to use to cover my sub box, but I want it to be more flexable so im trying to attempt to remove the cloth weaving they glue on the back of the vinyl. I heard of people using stuff that dissolves the glue and it peals right off. Any idea what this stuff is?

Ok I did some searching and someone suggested MEK solvent. Where do I get this stuff, and what is it called specifically?

MEK is short for Methyl Ethyl Ketone... a solvent that is a bit less volitile than acetone. It also has a milder smell to it. However as with any solvent and vinyl, you must bare careful of timing and exposure to not only the cloth but to yourself as well. Too much or too long with damage and discolor the vinyl. Protect your hands as this stuff is also very abusive to the skin. Do what you can to keep it off your skin, but if you do manage to get some on you... do not wash it in water. Take a dry cloth and wipe off without smearing it or spreading it over your sking more. If it comes in contact with water, it crystalizes and destroys skin cells as well as tissue in direct contact with it. That will take at least 2 weeks to fairly cure any damage the crystalizing does.

You can get MEK from most home improvement stores.
