I recommend .75” with a doubled up 1.5” face. For a vented enclosure add two 1”x 2” hard wood braces from front to back and from side to side. Also take care to use thick high quality screws to mount this sub. I have seen more than one of these subs tear them selves out of an enclosure.

Any movement of the enclosure will negate the efforts of the sub as well as your time, your money, and your personal efforts.

As thick as you can. Doubled 3/4" would be my choice, with braces galore. That woofer can move a TON of air inside a box, and develop some serious pressure. Built it like a brick s*ithouse and it'll be ok. Seal the edges twice as well as you think you need to, etc. Overbuild and you'll be happy.
