wrinkling fabric problems

Hey guys, I've been lurking on here for a bit and almost done with my install. (2 custom fiberglass/carbon fiber 12" sub pods and trunk lit amp rack for a 97 Prelude)

The sub pods and all mounting of everything is done, I'm working on the trim panel for the amp rack.

When I built the sub pods, I made a wire mesh skeleton of what I wanted and covered it with fleece, followed by fiberglass and finally carbon fiber as a veneer. turned out beautifully.

Since weight and shape is more of an issue with the amp rack, I decided to make the frame out of balsa and use a fiberglass trim piece from my previous installation. I stretched jersey knit (t-shirt) material over it and all was well. (in this case, I wanted to reinforce the back of the fabric instead of build it up)

After the first coat of fiberglass resin however, the fabric wrinkled ruining the complex curves I needed (the fabric was as tight as possible and stuck in place with spray adhesive) The largest unsupported gap was about 5 inches (there weren't any ribs or anything there)

My first thought was that the brushing on of the resin was causing the wrinkles. So I redid the fabric and sprayed aerosol clear on it to harden it a bit before the resin. Same problem.

Is there an alternative fabric or technique that I can use? It needs to be smooth enough to take the contours of the form underneath with minimal sanding and thin enough to not throw off my measurements.

make sure you dont paint resin over were you have your spray glue. the resin will make the glue come undone.

yah, don't use spray glue, the resin eats that right up, use hot glue, ca glue or staples to hold the fabric.
