I am the recent owner of a 2002 Pontiac Bonneville and having had many GM cars over the years installing alarms, cellphones and the like have to admit, engineering has come a long way, but so have the headaches.
I am in the process of installing a cellphone system (with signal booster and cradle) and an XM radio (NOT replacing the factory stereo). I am looking for a 12V+ supply that is switched (and yes I would like it to retain after the key is off just like the factory) and have hit many a roadblock! With the advent of continous 12V+ everywhere, all controlled by "control modules" where is one to find a "switched 12V+" connection?

Thanks for your help guys, this site is truly PRICELESS

If you really want a retained accessory power wire, you will have to find the dark blue wire that comes out of the rear fuse panel, under the rear seat, that goes to the sunroof module. That is provided you have a sunroof. There is a RAP relay in the fuse center that is activated until a door is opened. If this isn't an option, you will have to use the small brown wire off the ignition switch. It is only designed to trigger a relay though.

Sparky, Thank you for your reply.

YES the car has a factory sunroof. I had looked into the sunroof module RAP and was in the process of doing some diagnosis when I decided to use the 12volt forum. I will check it out, this may be the "switched" 12 volt + I was looking for. Thanks again.
