Wondering if the green wire that is labeled for "ignition switch supply point" is necessary. If so, just want to make sure this goes to a positive source and not a ground. I got the unit to work without the wire hooked up, but am having issues with it working all the time. I think it might be a heat issue instead though. If I let the unit set in the truck and then try to turn it on, nothing happens, bring it inside and let it cool, works fine. Is this a typical issue? It is 100+ for 6-8 hours a day here so not an option if it won't work in hot weather. truck probably hits 120-150 during the day with windows rolled up.

the green wire is for switched power, It should be tied into an acc. circuit but you can tie in to a constant battery source. The install kit should be fine at those temps. the phone may not, especially the lcd and charging circuitry. I dont know what the temp. is but there are temp. parameters that are checked before a charge is delivered to the battery. If possible, i would take the phone out of the truck when your not in it.
