OK so by now we all know about the 30-pin to "lightning" adapter.

From what I understand, the new lightning connector does not support ipod controls - AT ALL- and just gives you audio out (nothing more than the headphone jack does)...so all of the folks with connected head units (or ANY car stereo that provides playlist control) who have been able to control / navigate playlists via our head unit touchscreen, (not to mention, providing simultaneous charging of the phone, in many cases!) are now completely out of luck.

It looks like all you get from Lightning port is audio, you are going to be forced to navigate the playlist using the damn phone.

What is the solution going to be? A third-party "black box" to connect between the iphone5, and our head units?

Ditto and the aftermarket will be on the iPhone5 like a fat kid on a smarty.... just wait a bit and there will be solutions for this.

When I got the Iphone 5 when it came out, I thought it would definately work with my Pioneer AVIC after buying the lightning adapter. But I was wrong. I got fed up and bought a cracked IPod 3rd gen 32 gb on Ebay for $30. Then replaced the cracked screen for $10. I didnt have to replace it for it to work, but I wanted to. But anyways, thats what I did and it made me happy.
