Has anyone tried this?  I just thought of this but I'm not sure if I want to spend $10-15 to try it out.  I have a 2-way alarm w/ remote start system.  I was thinking maybe I could put one in the receiver/antenna module on the vehicle side and another one in my remote/transceiver.  Will this increase the range?  Or is this completely idiotic?

I'm currently getting about 500meters (or 1500+ feet) of range... but would like to increase it.

those things don't even work on cell phones
