This is probably a simple question for you guys, but I'll ask it anyway:

I am installing a cell phone into my 2000 Ranger, and I want the power to be switched along with the other accessories (radio, etc) so that when I turn the ignition off, it shuts down. I also have a small bass tube I want to install at a future date that should have switched power as well.

What is the correct method to accomplish this?

Thanks!

Jim

Under the dash by the steering column you will find a bunch of wires coming off the key cylinder, these are your ignition wires. Find the LT.GRN/VIOLET wire as this will be the ignition wire to connect to for cell phone and also your remote wire for the amplifier powering your bass tube. Make sure that you fuse both wires separately to avoide possible damage to the components that you are installing.

Jeff, thanks for the reply.   Can I use a 'squash' type splicer to make this connection, or is there a better way?  Do I need to be concerned with the additional load I am putting on the circuit?

Thanks again...

Jim
