Does some cell phone work better then others??¿?? by that i mean signal

because i am with cingular with a sony ericcson t226 and some one told me i would catch a better signal with a nokia ... they said it didnt matter what kind of nokia juat a nokia ....

For what it's worth, I'm with Cingular too and my Nokia always seemed to receive a better signal than my Motorola, although my Nokia was a newer phone. My current phone, Samsung E317, outperforms my old Nokia and usually shows more bars than my neighbor's newer Nokia.
