Ford Fusion Handsfree

I took delivery of my 2006 Fusion last week. It has the audiophile system, with 8 speakers and amplifier. I have a handsfree cell kit that I previously had in a Taurus with an aftermarket unit. I had no problems wiring the handsfree cell phone kit with the aftermarket radio/harness. Having more problems with the Fusion. I have the wiring diagrams for the 8/16/24 pin connectors, so I can cut and splice if I absolutely have to, although the harness is very tight and I would rather not. The one unknown is which currently unused pin controls the mute.

In 2005 Ford offered a Handsfree Cell Phone Prep Harness. They seem to still be available online, although it seems Ford has phased them out. I can find no pictures of what they look like, or even a decent description, other than one notation that the harness included 2 pair of molex connectors and the bare wires to connect to the handsfree unit. I can't even get a straight answer from the online sites that claim they have them. Does anyone have any experience with them?

The Mobile Ease Prep Harness is what Ford seems to be selling these days. No more information on these harnesses than on the others, except for a response I got from an online dealer who said they would ONLY work with blue tooth. If I have to I may go to blue tooth, but my current phone is not blue tooth and I put $200 into the handsfree kit about 6 months ago. I have the same kit in 3 vehicles and everyone in the family uses the same phone. I would like to keep things standardized.

Any help anyone has to offer would be greatly appreciated.

My original post got 81 looks, but no responses. I thought I would let you know what I did to solve my problme. Not as easy as if someone offered a harness already made, but it works.

I made my own T-harness to go between the 24 pin harness connector in the car and and the radio. I used the Scosche FD23B and the FD23RB. Actually, I used two pair of them so I could steal pins and wires from one pair to fill in what Scosche doesn't wire. I filled in all available pin locations just to make sure I didn't miss one, but these are the pins Ford uses in the Fusion for the Audiophile system.

1 - 12 volt constant (BU-RD)
2 - ignition (GN)
5 - antenna power (VT-BK)
8 - left front speaker + (WH)
9 - left rear speaker + (BN-BN)
10 - right rear speaker + (BN-WH)
11 - right front speaker + (WH-VT)
12 - right front speaker - (WH-OG)
13 - ground (BK-BU)
15 - voltage supplied in start (BY-BN)
18 - audio steering wheel switch signal (GY-YE)
19 - audio steering wheel switch return (BU-WH)
21 - left front speaker - (WH-BN)
22 - left rear speaker - (BN-YE)
23 - right rear speaker - (BN-BU)

The wires you need for the phone kit are connected to pin 1 (12 volt), pin 2 (ignition), pin 13 (ground), and pin 7, which is the phone mute pin and is a pin you will have to add if you want to mute your stereo.

Using the wire colors I have given you can also splice into the harness in the car, but the harness is only as long as it absolutely has to be, and I decided it would be more of a hassle to do it that way, in tight quarters, than to add the harness. Also, I didn't have to cut into the factory harness.

If you want to run your sound through the stereo, the pins you need to add in the 8 pin connector are:
4 - mono in +
5 - mono in -

The only pins being used in the 8 pin connector are 15 & 16, MS CAN A & B.
